In its second season (2003) the play is a showcase of the variety of Texas culture through music and dance. The dancers are wonderful and the cast adequately vocalizes the prerecorded music. Where the prerecorded music leaves you desiring live music, the lead singer, Crissida Tyler, (2003) fills in the gaps to make the music much more palatable. The Indians The Spanish The Mexicans The Cowboys If you like dance, this is your show. It is obvious that improvements are being made to the facility, but what is there was good enough for me but I’m sure the performers could use some improvements in dressing rooms. Prior to the show the cast entertains those who arrive early with their dance and singing talents on a separate stage. If you’re going to be early enough to enjoy this informal part of the show you might as well partake of the barbeque dinner that is made available before each performance. The biggest challenge to Lone Star Rising is to grow into its venue. With Lake Meredith and the Canyon walls that impound it as its backdrop, it makes the natural beauty of the stage the biggest star of the show. |
