Gilmer High School is Home of the Buckeyes, the 2004 Class AAA Football State Champions! Buckeye Stadium was opened in 1961. At the north end (where the large 'G' is above the end zone in the picture) is a new locker room and training facility which opened in 2007. The field is also used for the annual Yamboree UIL Marching Contest held the third Thursday in October every year during the annual Yamboree.Directions: From US Hwy 271 & Tx Hwy 154 in Gilmer: Take 271 north 1 block to red light at Jefferson St. Turn west (left) on Jefferson (toward downtown). Follow Jefferson St. (which changes names in downtown to Buffalo St.) approximately 1 mile to y. Stay right at y to stop sign. Visitors turn right. Home team continue straight to parking area past high school on right
