Pour salt over the above ingredients and let sit for 30 minutes
or longer. Drain
Put the ingredients listed below in a sauce pan and let come
to a boil for a few minutes. Then pour it all over the
ground up ingredients and let all of it cook until good and
tender.

Sugar
2½ cups
Turmeric
1 tsp.
Allspice
1 tsp.
Lemon juice
2 tbs.
Directions:
Pack in hot jars. Close jars. Process in
boiling water bath 15 minutes. Begin counting time as soon
as water returns to a boiling.
